New overnight care rates from 1 January 2027 🐾
A little heads up for my current and future clients: my overnight care pricing will be changing from 1 January 2027, and Constant Care will also be introduced as a new service. I’m giving everyone plenty of notice so there are no surprises when the new year rolls around.

A relaxed evening-to-morning stay offering routine, reassurance and overnight company, allowing your pets to remain comfortable in their familiar surroundings while you're away.

Constant Care
New service from 1 January 2027
For pets who need someone around for most of the day and cannot comfortably be left alone for extended periods. Constant Care provides ongoing companionship and reassurance in your pet's own home while you're away.
- Cannot comfortably be left alone for more than approximately 2–4 hours
- Experience separation anxiety or become distressed when left alone
- Become anxious, unsettled or destructive when left alone
- Require frequent human company throughout the day
- Are accustomed to having someone home with them for most of the day
Additional Care Surcharge
Most pets requiring medication or additional care will not incur an extra fee. This surcharge applies where an animal's medical, behavioural or handling requirements make their care substantially more demanding, time-consuming, stressful or responsible than routine care.
Medically & Behaviourally Complex Care
This may apply to pets requiring seizure watch or intensive health monitoring, complex or time-sensitive treatment routines, or pets who are particularly difficult or resistant when receiving necessary medication or treatment. It may also apply to aggressive or fractious pets who require specialised handling, additional safety precautions, specific approaches or extra preparation to safely provide their care.
Pets that calmly accept medication, injections or insulin as part of their normal care do not attract an additional care surcharge. Likewise, a shy or nervous pet does not automatically attract a fee simply because they need patience or reassurance.
The Additional Care Surcharge may apply alongside Constant Care where both increased supervision and additional medical, behavioural or handling requirements are involved. For example, a pet requiring Constant Care due to seizure watch may also incur the Additional Care Surcharge because of the increased vigilance and responsibility involved. All additional care requirements are discussed and agreed upon prior to booking, and the applicable rate will be confirmed before care begins.
Public Holiday Surcharge
A 30% surcharge applies to care provided on Victorian public holidays. This applies to the applicable overnight, Constant Care and Additional Care rates where relevant.
Why are my prices changing?
I’ve thought carefully about these changes and wanted to be transparent about why they’re happening.
Firstly, to better reflect the current pet care market. The cost of providing professional, reliable pet care has changed, and I want my pricing to remain in line with the current market for professional pet care services.
Secondly, to better reflect my experience and qualifications. Since starting Paws N Whiskers, I’ve continued to invest in my knowledge, education and skills so that your pets receive more than just basic care.
I’m a qualified Veterinary Nurse, hold a Certificate II in Animal Studies, am Fear Free Certified across cats, dogs, avian and equine species, and am Pet First Aid trained. I’m also currently studying a Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training.
These changes help make sure my pricing reflects the level of experience, education, time and individualised care that goes into every booking.
